The verification and engineering Rina Group will carry out basiceEngineering design, environmental and social impact assessment, safety and other studies for the expansion of Greece’s only LNG terminal, at Revithoussa. The four month project was awarded by DESFA (Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator).
1400 Nm3/h
The expansion of the LNG Revithoussa Terminal Cryogenic Facilities will boost the maximum sustainable gas send-out rate to 1400 Nm3/h (with a peak send-out rate of 1650 Nm3/h). The existing terminal consists of an import jetty, two full containment storage tanks, plus one under construction, re-gasification equipment and send-out facilities. It is situated on an island west of Athens and currently handles between 0.51 and 0.68 billion cubic metres of gas annually, supplied by Algeria's Sonatrach.
The expansion project will analyse potential interfaces not only with the existing LNG Terminal, but also the third tank under construction.
Joint-Venture
Rina Servicesis the lead company of a joint-venture set up to deliver the project which also includes Rina Group engineering consultancy D'Appolonia and Greece’s Exergia. Rina's subsidiary Projenia will be responsible for cryogenic facilities design. D'Appolonia will be responsible for carrying out safety studies and environmental impact assessment, while permitting will be done by Exergia.
