After announcing the company will cut 900 jobs in the Benelux, Spain and the Marine Division, Imtech Marine has now announced it has opened two new offices in Spain. The company is looking to expand its activities in deepsea and the super yacht and cruise markets in Spain.
On 1 November, the company opened a new office in Barcelona, just weeks after a new office was opened in Valencia. In October 2011, Imtech Marine opened its first Spanish office in Algeciras. The new Barcelona office is located in the MB92 Shipyard, one of the most important super/mega yacht shipyards in the Mediterranean.
Presence in Vital Spots
Eric van den Adel, Managing Director of Imtech Marine, comments: 'Algeciras, Valencia and Barcelona are the most important ports in Spain and in the top ten ports in Europe. We have to be in all the vital spots in the world where ships are being operated. We will continue to open more offices and add more services into our network,' he emphasises.
