In July, IHC Merwede launched both the 500 m3 grab hopper dredger, Dohuk, and the 3500 m3 trailing suction hopper dredger, Karbala, in two ceremonies at the company's shipyard in Krimpen aan den IJssel, the Netherlands.
On 3 August, in Sestao, near Bilbao, the yard Construcciones Navales del Norte launched the mining and fallpipe vessel Joseph Plateau.
The Tharsis was christened on 25 August and is a Kaapcoaster 2300 and the first diesel-electric ocean-river ship.
The first two pictures in the album below are of the Dohuk and Karbala, following are pictures of the launch of the Joseph Plateau, and lastly the christening of the Tharsis. Please click the little quares directly below the picture frame to watch the pictures in their proper dimensions.
