GL Noble Denton, a technical advisor to the oil and gas industry, has appointed industry veteran Arthur Stoddart to lead its operations in the Americas.
Mr Stoddart will become Executive Vice President for the region, based in Houston. He will take overall responsibility for developing GL Noble Denton’s presence across the United States, Canada, Mexico and Brazil.
Stoddart is a recognised specialist in the structural and hydrodynamic design of floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) units, and his career has included extended assignments on design projects in California, Oslo and Korea. A chartered engineer and member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects, Stoddart also joins GL Noble Denton’s Management Board, having spent four years as managing director for the company’s UK mid- and downstream consultancy.
Focus on Safety and Risk
Commenting on his move to lead GL Noble Denton’s Americas operations, Stoddart said: “The past few years have been a watershed for the American oil and gas industry. After a period of volatility, operators are more focused on asset safety and risk than ever before, as the region ramps up the development of its significant deepwater and unconventional gas reserves.”
