After the Costa Concordia shipwrecked on the clips of the Italian island Isola del Giglio, the ship is now suspended there on its side awaiting salvaging operations. The Italian authorities have given permission to the company Prorama to film the entire salvage operation through live feeds. The live feeds can be viewed on a website and will eventually lead to a documentary.
The company has been allowed to place cameras at several sites on the island that offer the best view of the salvage work. The material gathered from these cameras in the form of time lapse recordings will form the base of the documentary “The Last Salute” (working title).

From 9 to 12 May the company has installed its timelapse camera, which is now online. During daylight hours every five seconds a picture will be refreshed at the website https://www.thelastsalute.eu[thelastsalute.eu].
