Dutch, Canadian and Kazakhstan maritime industry and authorities will gather to discuss Arctic developments (oil, gas, minerals and related transport) at the sixth Harsh Weather Summit 2012. Theme of the event that takes place 22 and 23 May in the Hague is the ‘Next Arctic Frontiers: Yamal-Chukchi-Beaufort-Greenland-Barents-Caspian’.
EnergyWise’s Arctic Summit strives to become an Arctic platform dedicated to the sharing and transfer of innovations, projects and technologies. A key feature in 2012 will be high-lighting summaries of the latest Joint Industry Projects (JIPs) covering:
– Transportation and Infrastructural JIPs
– Arctic Standards
– Operating Issues
Gathering of Minds
By bringing together the best minds in the public/private sectors, trends can be explained and compared with similar geographical areas. The emphasis is on conceptualisation of ideas, process and strategy; not their technical implementations.
Merger of Three Events
The summit is supported by the Government of Canada and the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the oil and gas industry. The 5th Harsh Weather Summit, held 31 May and 1 June 2011, was a merger of three events (Harsh Weather Canada, held in Calgary; Harsh Weather Russia, held in Moscow; and our Sustainable Development Kazakhstan, held in Astana).
