Salvage workers hope the weather stays calm on Thursday so that they can resume their search for over twenty persons that are still missing. The work had been postponed due to bad weather that caused the ship to move. Visit https://www.swzonline.nl/weblog/3[the SWZ Videos page] for some videos of the ship on its side and the evacuation of passengers on Sunday.

Weather forecasts are not very promising. It is feared the ship will move into deeper water making salvage work that much harder. Due to bad weather, salvage workers have also been unable to pump fuel from the ship so far, but Smit hopes to start pumping tomorrow.

Over the last few days divers have been able to make some openings into submerged parts of the ship using explosives to look for missing people. There is little hope of finding them alive. So far, 11 deaths have been reported.
