For the first time in its 18 year history, the Green Award Foundation has certified a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) carrier. The LNG vessel Dukhan is chartered by Qatargas, the world’s largest LNG producing company.

The Dukhan (72.533 DWT), is managed by London based https://www.mol.co.jp/lngcarrier.shtml[MOL LNG Transport (Europe) Ltd], a MOL Group company. The Dukham is on long term charter to https://www.qatargas.com/[Qatargas]. The decision to bring LNG carriers into the Green Award programme came from an initiative from and was strongly supported earlier this year by Qatargas.
