In 2001, Shipyard De Hoop designed, built and delivered its first ship, the Caballo De Mar, to Mexican shipping company Oceanografía. Ten years later, De Hoop is building the sixteenth vessel for Oceanografia, the Caballo Genitor.
The Caballo De Mar was a diving support vessel to be used for inspection, maintenance and repair. Following this vessel, https://www.dehoop.net/index.php[Shipyard De Hoop] developed another seven diving support vessels for https://seahorse.cloudaccess.net/[Oceanografía], with varying functional requirements. In addition, two platform supply vessels were designed and built, to the shipping company’s wishes and requirements, as well as four mud and drilling assistance vessels. The last two mud vessels, the Caballo Xanthus and Caballo Genitor, are currently being built at the yards in Lobith and Foxhol according to the KISS design principle. Discussions are under way for a whole new series of vessels.
