Imtech has acquired the Canadian marine company Groupe Techsol Marine to gain a high-tech marine production site in Canada and to stregthen the company’s foothold in North-America.
With over 100 employees, Groupe Techsol Marine realises annual revenues of around 20 million euro. The acquisition will be paid in cash and will directly contribute to the earnings per share.
Double Revenue
Imtech aims to double the revenue of its marine division to approximately 1 billion euro by 2015 through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions.
Groupe Techsol Marine Profile
Groupe Techsol Marine, based in Quebec, was established 15 years ago by the current management and specialises in high-tech marine technical solutions in the field of vessel automation, alarm, monitoring & control, navigation & communication and electrical systems, including switchboard and console construction, and energy-efficient electric propulsion technology. The company operates as a ‘whole ship solutions’ system integrator, combining its own software and hardware products with those of third parties.
Besides new-build projects, the company also handles refit and maintenance activities. The company is primarily active in the market segments of government vessels, workboats, tugs, ferries and special purpose vessels like icebreakers and high-tech research vessels.
There are four business units (Techsol Marine, Sea Marine, Soudure Technologie and ScanTech), which are all an integral part of the acquisition.
Continuity
Groupe Techsol Marine’s management will stay on after the acquisition, ensuring continuity. In the coming period, Groupe Techsol Marine will continue its activities under its own name and identity.
