This month, SWZ features an offshore and dredging special with articles on deepsea mining, dredging and energy from sea. The focus is on new technologies, innovation and the environmental impact of these activities. SWZ Maritime is also proud to present its new columnist Antoon Oosting.
Damen Shipyards, IHC Merwede, TNO, NIOZ, and GustoMSC are some of the companies that have contributed to this edition’s special, covering topics such as deep dredging and mining equipment, offshore wind and drillship design.
New Columnist for ‘Maritieme markt’
SWZ Maritime is also happy to present its new columnist, Antoon A. Oosting, who from now on will inform you on the state of (economic) affairs in maritime industry in the regular feature ‘Maritieme markt’. Antoon is a freelance maritime journalist. He takes the place of Menso de Jong, who has been SWZ’s columnist since 1993.
‘Yin & Jan’
For this edition, journalist Sander Klos interviewed the Maritime Museum Rotterdam’s curator Irene Jacobs on the exhibition ‘Yin & Jan’. The exhibition, which lasts until 4 March 2012, covers the history of the relationship between the Netherlands and China.
