With increasing interest in sustainable shipping, Europort in cooperation with HME will organise for the second time in line a special Green Route. 36 companies that have products that show a demonstrable reduction in the environmental impact of ships have already signed up to be part of the Green Route.

Companies whose products do not directly contribute to reducing a ship’s environmental impact can participate in the Green Route as well. An example is Lankhorst Ropes, a company that has come up with a recycle rope scheme. Old used ropes can be easily recycled for the production of picnic sets or plastic poles.

Participate in the Green Route

The Green Route proved to be very successful when introduced for the first time at Europort 2009. Companies that have products/services that show a demonstrable reduction in the environmental impact of ships can still sign up to be part of the second edition of the Green Route at Europort 2011 (November 8 – November 11).
