APM Terminals’ talent acceleration program MAGNUM has introduced a three year affiliation with the prestigious Barcelona-based ESADE (Escuela Superior de Administración y Dirección de Empresas- “School for the Higher Study of Business and Administration”).
Chosen from applicants within the APM Terminals Global Port, Terminal and Inland Services Network through a rigorous selection process, MAGNUM participants undertake a three-module, one year program featuring practical terminal hands-on training assignments as well as rigorous classroom curricula. APM Terminals has identified the core competencies for port and logistics management development and has partnered with the ESADE Business School for classroom training in these valuable skill areas.
PMD Certificate and MAGNUM Diploma
Graduates of the APM Terminals MAGNUM program receive a Corporate Program for Management Development (PMD) certificate from ESADE as well as a MAGNUM diploma upon successful completion of the curricula. The PMD coursework is designed for furthering the management and strategic planning skills that high-potential managers will require as their careers proceed. The APM Terminals-ESADE affiliation has been contracted for three years.
Current MAGNUM Class
The current 2011 MAGNUM class of 30 managers represents APM Terminals operations in 22 countries in North and West Africa, East, South and Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Latin America as well as North America and Europe. The participants have recently completed their first module in Spain, covering coursework in Economics, Finance, Strategic Operations, Marketing and Project Management, as well as on-site visits to APM Terminals operations at the Ports of Algeciras, Spain and Tangers, Morocco.
