Yacht builder Henk Hokwerda has been pronounced winner of the HISWA Excellence Award 2010. He received the award yesterday from Karla Peijs, former Minister of Transport and Public Works, at the Maritime Awards Gala.
He is the founder/owner of shipyard De Boarnstream in Jirnsum. The company builds steel quality yachts, such as the renowned Boarncruiser.
Good Reputation
President of the jury Ineke Dezentjé Hamming: “The jury was unanimous. Henk won because he is passionate and is always trying to be innovative. He is an all round tradesman who has given his family business international repute. When you have delivered around 1000 yachts, work from the client’s wishes and have built and maintained a good reputation since 1960, you can defintiely be a proud winner.”
The award was presented at the fifth Maritime Awards Gala that took place 10th November at the Amsterdam Convention Factory.
