Yesterday, SWZ Maritime’s publisher Media Business Press (MBP), formerly a part of the Thieme Groep, was taken over by publisher MYbusinessmedia. The new owner feels the takeover will create many new opportunities and synergies with their current activities.

Earlier, management of the Thieme GrafiMedia Group (TGMG) announced the moratorium of 6 companies has been converted in bankruptcy in order to allow for a new start. However, negotiations with an unknown investor have failed.

Profitable Companies

MBP’s takeover by MYbusinessmedia is the first successful transaction of a former TGMG company. The new owner guarantees a substantial number of jobs. Both MYbusinessmedia and MBP are profitable companies, which means the acquisition contributes directly to the company’s profit.

Crossmedia Specialist

The new owner is a crossmedia publisher belonging to the five biggest business to business publishers in the Netherlands with offices in Deventer and Amsterdam. Shareholders are Hein Bronk (CEO), Pascal van Sluijs (CPO) and investment company Berk Partners bv in Abcoude.

MYbusinessmedia sees many opportunities and synergies in the new activities. ‘MBP’s markets and brands strengthen our portfolio offer a lot of opportunities for extending our online and eventmarketing propositions,’ says CEO Hein Bronk.

Wyt Gevaarsetiketten, formerly part of MBP, has been excluded from this takeover.
