To celebrate William Froude’s birthday on 28 November 2010, Student Association “William Froude” will organise a special day to place maritime industry in the spotlight. SWZ Maritime’s June edition featured an article on this event.
William Froude was famous for his research into the best hull shape and his formulation of the Froude number. To celebrate him, Student Association William Froude organises a special day on his 200th birthday. The day consists of (amongst others):
– an open air exhibition with innovations, a towing tank from William Froude’s era, cases and presentations for young people.
– A game such as life-size battle ships.
– Building a ship in one day.
