As of today, the public is welcome to take look aboard the ss Rotterdam. The former Holland America Line cruise ship at Katendrecht is to become a tourist attraction.
The ship now has shops, restaurants, accommodation and a theater. There is also room for conferences.
This week, people will spent the night to test the accommodation. A number of the rooms have been renewed completely, others have been brought back to their original design, such as the room queen Beatrix of the Netherlands slept in.
The 200m long ship’s renovation has cost over 240 million euros, where costs were estimated at 25 million euros.
