The members of the Rotterdam Port Press Club Kyoto have declared STC-Group’s chairman of the board Erik Hietbrink Port Man of the Year 2009.
The press club have chosen Hietbrink in recognition of his efforts to provide maritime industry in the Netherlands and abroad, with Rotterdam as knowledge center, with well-trained personnel. In doing so he contributes directly to the future of shipping, ports and the cluster around them.
Hietbrink (58) was very excited to receive the distinction “after 20 years of work in and for the port of Rotterdam”. He is the 29th Port Man of the Year. The award ceremony takes place on 11 January during the annual Port Man of the Year meeting.
