Frans Heesen (picture) of Heesen Yachts is a true ambassador for Dutch yacht building abroad. Because he is an example of good entrepreneurship, he received the HISWA Excellence Award at the Maritime Awards Gala yesterday. Bouw van Wijk Sr. was also nominated for the award.
According to the jury, Frans Heesen was able to give his company international regard an took up and maintained an important part of the market.

Bouw van Wijk sr. is considered the founder of sloop sailing. His yard from Woubrugge launched the first motor sloop in the early eighties. From then on the sloop became a true craze.
