The Rotterdam based STC Group (Shipping and transport College) will invest 40 million euros in the next three years. The money will be spent on new buildings and modern teaching modules.
Maritime industry develops rapidly and the STC Group wants to stay up to date. When students leave school, they should be able to work with the newest technology. Therefore, the school will invest in new books, new teaching methods and new simulators. Ships and buildings need to be modified and modernised.
The building at the Waalhaven is no longer up to date. Next year, the building will be demolished to make way for a new building.
Europe subsidizes a quarter of the 40 million euros. The rest comes from the coordinating group of shipping and transport colleges.
