As is clear from this year’s theme, ‘Sea your Future!’, the Shipyard Week means to interest young people in a career in maritime industry. The event takes place from 5 until 10 October 2009.

During this week many companies will open their doors and organise different activities for schools and the public in general. The Shipyard Week is an initiative of European social partners in shipbuilding.

In 2008 24,000 people visited the event and as the number of maritime engineering students increases, this year at least as many visitors are expected. The event offers a unique chance to see what goes on in maritime industry.
