Seventeen maritime companies have registered their innovations for the Maritime Innovation Award 2009.
The seventeen entries are:

• IHC Merwede Parts & Services: Cutter Special Dredging Pump
• Koninklijke Dirkzwager: Vessel Traffic Routing Service
• Loggers BV: Evolo, active sound control
• Minks Kunststoftechniek: Kronios, safe drinking water
• Nautic Arm: Nautic Arm
• Promac BV: Slurry Ice Installation
• Sandfirden Technics: Hydraulic steering engine
• SARC BV: Weighty
• SeaVsat: Broadband Internet connection
• Siemens Nederland: Diesel-elektric Propulsion System
• VSTEP: Ship Simulator Professional.
The shortlisted nominees will be announced early September. The winner will receive the award at the Maritime Gala Awards 2009 on 28 October 2009 in Rotterdam.
This event highlights five maritime awards: KNVTS Ship of the Year Award, VNSI Timmers Award, HISWA Excellence Award, KVNR Shipping Award and the HME Maritime Innovation Award.
