After almost 38 years with Van Oord, John van Herwijnen (62) has resigned as managing director under the company’s articles of association in order to take retirement.
Van Herwijnen celebrated his departure with business relations and colleagues on 7 May.
In his final position at Van Oord, Van Herwijnen was responsible for the company’s activities in the Netherlands and Europe. One of the highlights of his long career was being awarded the Maasvlakte 2 Port of Rotterdam expansion project.
As of 1 May 2009, Van Oord’s Executive Board consists of Pieter van Oord (CEO), Arjan van de Kerk (CFO) and Peter de Ridder (COO).
