Once again students of the TU Delft and Hogeschool INHOLLAND will compete at MARIN’s offshore-basin to decide who has designed and built the fastest sailing ship. The event takes place on the 16th of January.

Turning a theoretical design into fast, successful vessel requires knowledge, inspiration and creativity. There are hardly any limitations. In the open class limits are imposed only on length, size of the sails and operation. The competition takes place on two tracks. The model will first be tested on manoeuvrability in various wind conditions. The second track solely tests the ship’s speed.

MARIN
The event takes place at MARIN in Wageningen (the Netherlands). MARIN is an important research centre for maritime industry and has a large number of facilities for amongst others modeltesting (on scale). With this competition MARIN challenges students to create their own nautical successes.
