Damen Shipyards Gorinchem has been awarded the Heineken Trophy, an initiative by the Netherlands British Chamber of Commerce. The Trophy was presented to Erik van der Noordaa, COO of the Damen Shipyards Group, by Jean-François van Boxmeer, Chairman and CEO of Heineken.
In the presence of the British Ambassador the price was awarded to Damen as a result of an increasing level of export of vessels to the United Kingdom over a sustained period of time. , Thanks to its organisational structure, Damen can offer smaller and larger vessels to accommodate a wide group of companies, either being privately or government owned. This flexible approach and best ‘value for money’ mentality displayed by the yard has proven to attract dozens of British customers in a global market. Having a range of standardised vessels, Damen can build proven designs and deliver in a relatively short period of time. The award is an exchange trophy sculptured by silversmith John Wilmin.
