Alewijnse Marine Systems has signed a mega contract with Schelde Naval Shipbuilding for the delivery and supply of electrical installation on board four navy patrol vessels for the Dutch Navy. It is the largest order in Alewijnse’s history, meaning Alewijnse Marine Systems’ order book now totals 140 million euros.
The order consists of delivery of all switchboards, the lighting installation and the entire electrical installation works including steelwork on board the four navy patrol vessels. The patrol vessels measure 108 metres in length and have a total displacement of 3750 tonnes. Up to ninety people can be accommodated on board each vessel and 100 evacuees can be boarded if necessary. The four patrol vessels will be built for the Royal Netherlands Navy, and are due to be delivered between November 2010 and November 2012.
International Cooperation
Two of the vessels will be built at the Royal Schelde Shipyard in Vlissingen in the Netherlands, whilst the other two will be built at the Damen Shipyard in Galati, Romania. Detail engineering and execution of works will be carried out by Alewijnse Retec Romania. The business unit of Alewijnse Marine Systems in Nijmegen will support in project management and additional engineering.
