De Vries Makkum Shipyard has been named Frisian Company of the Year following a referendum among the general public in the Dutch province of Friesland. One of two De Vries yards in the Feadship group, the other being in Aalsmeer, De Vries Makkum is primarily responsible for building the new Feadship XL range and refits of Feadships.

An expert jury made up of important people from the local government and industry praised the yard’s exceptional professionalism and innovative character. ”Building superyachts is an extremely complicated process and requires superior management and cooperation,” commented jury chairman Sjoerd Galema, Economic Affairs province of Friesland. “We received numerous letters from the yard’s personnel recommending their employer, which speaks volumes for their commitment to the
De Vries family.”
