Radio Holland Group’s subsidiary Radio Holland Canada has opened two new offices in St Catharines, Ontario and Montreal, Québec. This is in addition to the already established Radio Holland offices in Vancouver, B.C. and Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Radio Holland decided to go for this expansion of its worldwide network of branches because maritime business in Canada has been growing prosperously.
V-SAT Equipment Great Lakes Shipping Companies
Recently Radio Holland was awarded a large project to supply and install V-SAT equipment for many of the Great Lakes Shipping Companies. The V-SAT systems will provide each ship with a virtual office environment plus VoIP phones, which will eliminate the ship’s reliance on cellular telephones. The V-SAT project is being implemented over a four year period and may include over 100 Laker ships on both sides of the Canada / U.S. border.
Dé Slager, CEO of the Radio Holland Group (headquarters Rotterdam), says: “Radio Holland is known for its presence along the major shipping routes and fast service on the spot. We concluded that our activities in service and sales of maritime electronics in Canada have been growing substantially. As Canada is a large country and often service and support to our customers has to happen within short time spans, we needed new locations to be able to serve our customers up to the usual Radio Holland standard and on the spot. The essence of Radio Holland’s global policy for service is to determine where the growth areas in shipping are, to determine where our customers need us and consequently to be there. This is also why we opened offices in Panama and Bergen (Norway) recently.”
The St Catharines office is located at Lock Number One on the Welland Canal. The Montreal office is centrally located to allow easy travel to ports within the city and also has good highway access to the outlying ports. The new offices will be fully prepared for both sales and service support.
