Offshore Wind Journal Conference 2023

2023-02-07

Offshore wind will play a vital role in the global race to net zero and investment in the sector is set to surge. A recent report shows the offshore wind industry has entered an era of dramatic growth as governments strive to deliver secure, affordable clean energy and meet global net-zero emissions targets.

Increased activity in large-scale offshore wind projects will require a huge number of new vessels capable of installing, maintaining and supporting next-generation windfarms. As wind turbines have increased in size and projects are being developed in deeper waters, new technology is needed to lift components and maintain them.

There is an increased demand for zero-emissions vessels operating in a green industry which require new types of propulsion systems for clean fuels such as hydrogen, fuel cells, batteries, ammonia and alternative fuels. Leading experts will review the options, consider the clean-fuels conundrum and debate where to invest.
