SUMMARY:CO2 Conference
DESCRIPTION:Please note this event will be in Dutch. \nExact location to be announced.

SUMMARY:Sea Japan
DESCRIPTION:Since 1994\, Sea Japan has been held under various themes that match the trends of the time and industry needs. Sea Japan 2024\, its 15th edition will focus on clean energy and explore the various options for the industry. \nThe next challenge for the maritime industry is to decide upon the new energy sources that will allow the carbon neutral operation of vessels. Which of the clean energy sources\, such as hydrogen\, ammonia\, liquefied natural gas (LNG)\, and electricity\, will prove to be the right choice for the industry in the future? How will we work to improve efficiency and ensure safety for practical use in the future? Sea Japan 2024 will put this challenge in the spotlight. \nA new addition to Sea Japan 2024 will be an offshore and port technology exhibition\, “Offshore & Port Tech 2024” as its parallel event. The new event will provide a platform for technology and information exchange between new ocean businesses and the maritime industry\, such as the blue economy\, the development of marine renewable energy such as offshore wind power generation\, and efforts for carbon-neutral ports which are becoming more active recently. \nSea Japan 2024 will create new business opportunities for industry professionals by offering an international network\, gathering the latest technologies and information from the world\, and continuing to address the industry’s challenges such as environmental protection\, digital transformation and human resource development.

SUMMARY:KNVTS lecture: Lithium Ion batteries on board\, how to manage the risks?
DESCRIPTION:There is a growing demand for the use of Lithium Ion batteries for power support or shared/full electric propulsion. FiFi4Marine has about 90MWh of marine Lithium Ion batteries in use\, certified by DNV\, RINA and LLoyd’s. How to deal with redundancy and a potential risk of thermal runaway and if\, how to extinguish this complex fire load is a challenge\, but mitigation measures exist. \nVideos will be shared showing the aggressive and rapid development of a fire load with Lithium Ion batteries\, the presentation will cover aging/degradation vs passive safety levels of batteries. Not only fire laboratory results will be shown\, but also a thermal runaway aboard an all-electric ferry in daily operation.

SUMMARY:KNVTS lecture: Reduce-reuse-recycle - How to make steel in ship structures more sustainable
DESCRIPTION:Please note this event will be in Dutch.
