SUMMARY:KNVTS excursion: Historic Combustion Engines Foundation Papendrecht
DESCRIPTION:Please note\, this event will be in Dutch. \nDe Stichting Historische Verbrandingsmotoren Papendrecht (SHVP) is in 2012 opgericht. De motorencollectie gaat echter ver terug tot in het begin van de vorige eeuw. De motoren worden door een kleine groep vrijwilligers in conditie gehouden. Dit is passie voor techniek! \nInmiddels gaat het om een collectie van ruim dertig authentieke verbrandingsmotoren van ABC tot en met Werkspoor. Rond 1882 was Rudolf Diesel van plan om een motor met een veel hoger rendement dan de stoommachine te ontwikkelen. Een belangrijke mijlpaal werd gehaald in 1894 toen het eerste prototype van Rudolf Diesel voor het eerst liep gedurende ongeveer één minuut.

SUMMARY:National Tugboat Days Vianen 2023
DESCRIPTION:Please note\, this is a Dutch event. \nKom naar historisch Vianen en geniet van dit unieke nautische evenement. Voor groot en klein is er van alles te beleven. De Nationale Sleepbootdagen vinden voor de 13e keer plaats in Vianen en daar zijn we enorm trots op. In 2017 trok het evenement zo’n 90.000 bezoekers uit alle hoeken van Nederland. \nEens in de twee jaar is Vianen de tijdelijke thuishaven van ruim 200 historische motorsleepboten uit de VDMS-vloot. In het Hemelvaartsweekend (18\, 19 en 20 mei) zorgen de boten in Vianen voor een boeiend en kleurrijk schouwspel. Tijdens verschillende demonstraties laten de schippers zien waar ze met hun sleepboten toe in staat zijn. Met krachtmetingen en behendigheidsproeven vermaken en imponeren ze jong en oud. Sommige monumentale sleepboten zijn toegankelijk voor publiek. \nTijdens de Nationale Sleepbootdagen is het feest in Vianen en is er in en om het historische centrum van alles te zien en te doen. Slenter bijvoorbeeld langs de kraampjes op de braderie of over de kunstmarkt\, luister naar verschillende optredens\, pak een terrasje en ga ’s avonds dansen in de feesttent. DESCRIPTION:Please note\, this event will be in Dutch. \nSpreker: Nick Daniels\, Bureau Veritas \nHoewel scheepswerven steeds vaker 3D-modellen van schepen gebruiken om het ontwerp en de constructie van schepen te vergemakkelijken\, is het classificatieproces grotendeels 2D gebleven. Om klanten een manier van classificatie te bieden die aansluit bij de huidige ontwikkelingen\, heeft Bureau Veritas 3D Classificatie ontwikkeld. Klanten profiteren van een ontwerp beoordeling die aansluit bij hun eigen tools en krijgen toegang tot een digitaal platform waarmee belanghebbenden over de hele wereld in gelijktijdig kunnen samenwerken. \nDoor uitsluitend een 3D-model te gebruiken – in plaats van te schakelen tussen 2D-tekeningen en een 3D-model – kan de kwaliteit van de data overdracht in het ontwerp en het beoordelingsproces worden verbeterd. Ontwerpers\, scheepswerven\, reders en surveyors kunnen gelijktijdig toegang hebben tot het online platform dat de kern vormt van 3D-classificatie. Daar wordt informatie uitgewisseld over de status en de klasse opmerkingen. \nHet keuren van een 3D model heeft zeker voordelen heeft en zal de sector meer toekomstbestendig maken\, maar zijn er vanzelfsprekend uitdagingen die overwonnen moeten worden. Onder andere de communicatie met de verschillende ontwerp software\, het niveau van detaillering en de overdracht van opmerkingen naar de surveyor op de werf zijn bijvoorbeeld enkele aandachtspunten. \nNaast het keuren van het constructief ontwerp in een 3D omgeving werkt Bureau Veritas eraan om nieuwe functies toe te voegen aan 3D-classificatie\, waaronder (brand)veiligheid\, stabiliteit en machinery. DESCRIPTION:Please note this event will be in Dutch. \nRederij Groen uit Scheveningen bestaat dit jaar vijftig jaar. Destijds werd gestart met drie sportvisboten. In 1980 werd als service verlenend bedrijf de overstap gemaakt naar de gas en olie offshore markt. In de loop der jaren groeide de rederij naar circa dertig eigen schepen en een even groot aantal gecharterde schepen. Het gaat hierbij om alle gebruikelijke offshore vaartuigen zoals anchor handling\, bevoorraders\, guard en recenter crew transfer voor de offshore wind. Een nichemarkt van de rederij bestaat uit de supportvloot voor de wereldwijde seismische onderzoeksmarkt. De schepen die  ingezet worden om olie- en gasvelden te ontdekken in de zeebodem hebben diverse supportschepen nodig. Op de behoefte aan dergelijke schepen heeft de rederij goed ingespeeld.

DESCRIPTION:In 1673\, two Dutch artists travelled to England at the request of Charles II. Willem van de Velde the Elder was renowned for his highly accurate drawings of ships and maritime life. He would even go to sea himself\, paper in hand\, to capture naval battles as they were raging. His son\, Willem van de Velde the Younger\, was a celebrated painter. From calm coastal scenes to fierce storms\, his work captured the many moods of the ocean. \nTogether they established a studio at the Queen’s House in Greenwich. Here they worked\, creating royal commissions\, magnificent paintings and tapestries\, as well as thousands of detailed sketches\, drawings and designs. DESCRIPTION:Ship breaking or ship demolition is a type of ship disposal involving the breaking up of ships for either a source of parts\, which can be sold for re-use\, or for the extraction of raw materials\, chiefly scrap. Ship breaking allows the materials from the ship\, especially steel\, to be recycled and made into new products. This lowers the demand for mined iron ore and reduces energy use in the steelmaking process. Equipment on board the vessel can also be reused. While ship breaking is sustainable\, there are concerns about the use of poorer countries without stringent environmental legislation. It is also considered one of the world’s most dangerous industries and very labour-intensive. \nACI is pleased to announce the 10th Ship Recycling Congress. The event will focus on the latest and upcoming EU regulations from 2022 and 2023\, Transparency and Collaboration in Ship Recycling\, IHM requirements\, Evolving Sustainability and the Future of Ship Recycling
